The Birth of Celestial Church of Christ
On September 29th 1947, our late father and founder, Reverend, Pastor, Prophet Samuel Bilehou Joseph Oshoffa (endearingly referred to as Papa Oshoffa), had an angelic visitation whilst praying. The winged angel appeared to him in an intense beam of light, and as the angel approached him, the beam shortened until the angel stood just a yard away from Papa Oshoffa. The angel began speaking to Papa saying:
“God wishes to send you on an errand of preaching to the world…Many Christians out there, during their lifetime, when they encounter the difficulties of this world, they seek after fetish priests and other powers of darkness for additional support. Upon their death, they think that they are Christians, but they are no longer Christians because Satan has left a mark on them. For this reason such people, after their death cannot see Christ.
God wants to send you to the world on missionary and evangelical duties, but note that the world will not believe you. In order to assist you in this divine task, so that men may listen and follow you, miraculous healing shall be wrought by you in the name of Jesus Christ. The marks of divine healing and God’s spiritual mark on you will testify to the fact that God has sent you.”
In support of this divine commission, a lady named Maria had a dream where she saw our Lord Jesus Christ, coming out of the cross and entering into a room with Papa Oshoffa. When they both came out of the room, she saw Papa Oshoffa dressed in a tunic full of stars and the Pastor’s eyes were so full of intense light, that no one could confidently look at him.
